DMC Contracting, Ltd. is looking for ticketed, energetic carpenters who are well-rounded in renovation skills: forming, framing, building envelope and finishing. Must have a vehicle, be ticketed, or enrolled in carpentry level 1 - 4 and have your own hand tools.

This position is for you if you enjoy problem solving and love to bring a plan to reality with your carpentry and organizational skills. We are looking for another driven and energetic Carpenter and/or Apprentice to join the team. Our field team works from 7:30am – 3:30pm weekdays only. We do not enforce weekends. We are based out of Abbotsford and do most of our work in: Langley, Surrey, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, Mission and the Tri-Cities. We are looking for the long-haul associate willing to grow with the company.

We are looking for Carpenters

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches
  • Build foundations, frame walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install trim, doors, stairs, install flooring
  • Install windows, moldings and fixtures
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
  • Start and complete jobs as set out in the blueprints/drawings and within the allotted time frame
  • Depending on experience, may instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers

    • QUALIFICATIONS

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Extensive experience operating all hand and power tools
  • Strong organizational skills and time-management
  • Committed to health/safety for all
  • Able to manage a fluctuating work environment with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills; will have daily interaction with upper management, suppliers, and other trades professionals
  • Works well individually as well as part of a team
  • Experience managing a crew would be an asset

    We are looking for a Red Seal Carpenter or enrolled and interested in completing their training

  • Red Seal Carpenter or enrolled
  • 2+ years experience in new home construction or renovations; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and own a vehicle
  • Has working cell phone and hand tools including pouch; skill saw and cordless drills

    We also have an opportunity for the occasional out of town work (within 5 hours of Abbotsford). This work comes with a respectable Living Out Allowance and does not stretch on for more than 2 weeks.
